RFID, or Radio-frequency identification, is a technology that uses radio waves to transfer data between objects. RFID tags are small, passive devices that contain an antenna and a chip. When an RFID reader sends a signal to the tag, the tag responds by transmitting its unique identifier back to the reader. RFID has become a popular technology for tracking assets and inventory.
